Art for the New Country French Decor

Country French Decor is a very popular trend today, and there is a great deal of artwork that compliments this style. You will find beautiful paintings of little shops and restaurants, villas and gardens all set in the charming small towns of France.

Bringing a touch of Europe into your home is a great style choice. These art pieces work especially well with white, gold, and pastel colors. You can choose furniture that is ornate and stylized with filigree details and complicated wood carving. Think Louis IV and Versailles, curved table legs, and etched glass windows.

French Decor is very sophisticated, but country French is also very comfortable and quaint. Everyone who visits your home will compliment you on your interior design.

Take a look at Leonard Wren's sweet painting of a French pastry shop or Christopher Wu's painting of a French florist . These will give you a great idea of this style of art. Henri Martin's cottage and garden painting, "La Fenetre Ensoleillee," and Betsy Brown's painting of a creperie are also great examples of French country art.

While you're discovering this style of art, don't miss Roger Duvall's "Le Marais", a beautiful work showing a village restaurant, or Montserrat Masdeau's "Summer Villa" . Roger Duvall's other French country paintings can be viewed on this site.

You might prefer photographs, in which case you could hang the panoramic image of a sunflower field in Provence or the quaint restaurants photographed by Stan Beckman .

Paul Cezanne and  Auguste Renoir are two of France's most famous painters, with many gorgeous country scenes. Of course, the most beloved painter of French scenes and gardens was  Claude Monet . He remains one o the world's most popular artists, and there are many paintings to choose from.
