Animal Paintings - Depicting Farm LifeAnimal paintings can convey many meanings and part of the 'message' depends on the habitat shown in the painting. For instance, a lion in the forest can convey strength and dominance. But what about a couple of chickens being fed in the farm, what does that represent? Domesticity! Animal Paintings Can Convey PeaceA painting of animals in a farmyard setting conveys simplicity and a certain sense of peacefulness with ones surroundings. Somehow, the thought of being able to roam around in farms also conveys a certain excitement of what the day ahead brings because somehow, seeing farms in paintings are also associated with daybreak or sunrise. Not all paintings of animals convey such 'domesticity' though. Seeing chickens or cows in paintings of farms is one thing but seeing these same animals in say, Chinese paintings is another. Consider the rooster; in farmyard paintings, they are simply domicile but in Chinese paintings where they are depicted as part of the Zodiac system, they are symbols of perfectionism. What a leap huh? Should you adorn your house with paintings of animals? By all means do but do figure out for yourself WHY you want them. If it's for Feng Shui reasons, note that there are certain places in the house where certain animal artworks should be placed to achieve optimum luck. Sometimes, placing animal paintings in the wrong location in the house may even bring bad luck so if you believe in these things do consult a geomancer (i.e., someone knowledgeable in Feng Shui) before you go off and start buying and hanging animal artworks in your home.
