I dare say that nobody understands how much we love our pets like another pet lover does. So to ensure that the portraits of your cats, dogs, and other furry friends are given 'justice', work with a professional pet artist. But how do you find one?
First of all, consult your local Yellow Pages for pet artists who are advertising their services. If you don't find much in your city, as family and friends for their recommendations. These people know how much you care for your pet and so will ensure that they pass along a name that will do a good job.
You should also ask people working at your pet's veterinary clinic. These people are surrounded daily by other pet lovers and are always attuned to their wants and needs so chances are they know an artist that can create the pet portrait well for you.
Lastly, check online! Many people don't want to do this because they do not really know the artist but many sites show a portfolio of the artists' works, enabling you to gauge how well he handles pet portraits from pictures.
