Andy Warhol Paintings - A Transformation

Nowadays, you can easily buy many abstract art prints that he made in the later years of his art career. He is considered as one of the most popular and influential pop-artists of all time in America.

Early Andy Warhol Paintings Are Bent on Commercialism

Famous artworks by Andy Warhol are the ones he made for Coca Cola and Campbell's Tomato Soup. He was also popular for his pop-art portraits of famous personalities like Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Dennis Hopper, Basquiat, Mick Jagger, Mao Tse-tung, Philip Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and Merce Cunningham amongst others. His pop-art fame soared in the 1960s.

Andy Warhol also put up his own production studio due to his obsession with pop culture. His movies focus on sexual themes. His fame eventually led to a shooting incident, which cost him a two-month stay in the hospital and a transformation in his artistic style. It was such a revelation when the father of pop art, as Andy Warhol was called, resorted to an abstract art expressionist style in the 1970s.

Amazingly, Andy Warhol's abstracts are considered as some of the most excellent in abstract art history. His "Roschach" paintings, described as inventive, lifelike and at the same time morbid, optical, provoking, and touching, are considered his best abstract artworks. They are charged with psychological and intellectual elements that arouse different reactions from the viewers, mostly jolting and provide self-discoveries.

You can buy some original and art print copies of Andy Warhol's abstract artworks and paintings on many online sites dedicated to abstract art.
