Understanding the Basis of Modern Art
An abstract art is a non-figurative type of art. It does not depict forms in their original state. One example of abstract work is calligraphy, invented by the Greek in the ancient times.
Pioneers of this modern type of art include Wassily Kandinsky and Kasimir Malewich, who have popularized it in 1910 and 1915, respectively. Wassily Kandinsky's form of abstract painting involves watercolor as his main material.
On the other hand, Kasimir Malewich of Russia used geometrical shapes to enhance his abstract art. This style of portraying art as simple, non-figurative forms is known as Supermatist Movement.
After some years, Abstract Expressionism came upon when European art enthusiasts fled to the United States, particularly in New York.
The birth of this modern art had been brought about by the crisis that had happened during Hitler's regime, among others. This modern art form involves less style but is not restricted to the contemporary forms of art.
Art prints of this kind are also known as Action Painting and New York School. Well-known users of this type of modern art are Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock, among other contemporaries.
