Storm Paintings - The Turmoil Within

Storm paintings are quite special. Their beauty seems to lie in the air of mystery that they exude. Somehow, they leave us thinking, what was the artist thinking when he or she created this? Does this represent anger? Or does it depict the rather chaotic feelings of the artist?

Whatever the case is, a storm painting has its own unique charm. As in contemporary landscape paintings, a storm painting makes an interesting conversation piece. Its burst of colors can be subject to various interpretations depending of course on one's taste in art or how one is able to relate to the painting's emotions.

Such art works of contemporary landscapes never cease to leave us in awe – wondering how artists seem to see beyond what “normal eyes” can only see when they look at mountains or trees or oceans, or maybe how they are able to combine such wonderful colors to depict nature and the beauty of its elements. It's absolutely marvelous how modern landscape artists seem to actually take time to creatively use other colors to represent nature – like avoiding the color green to paint trees. As one artist said in defense of this technique, they are not color blind.

Indeed, a storm painting, among many other works of modern landscapes is the perfect masterpiece for those looking for something innately unique and daring or something that wants to be figured out. But if you're the type who wants something more safe and traditional, this is definitely not the kind of art for you.
