Paintings of Flowers are Not Just For Women

Paintings of flowers are colorful, vibrant, alive. More often than not, floral prints are associated with sheets, linens, drapes and dresses. In other words, girly stuff. But if you think about it, there are a thousand and one ways of drawing flowers. Imagine flowers depicted in an abstract or surreal fashion. Think of floral paintings in silver, midnight blue, or even black color schemes. With proper lighting, such an art work would have made a fantastic focal point in your home and an interesting conversation piece.

If you think about it, the flower is one of the most versatile subjects in the art world. They can be represented using various art elements -- of different lines and shapes of all sizes and be as colorful or plain as they can be. And though they are often drawn alongside other subjects, it's quite impossible for you not to notice them as they always serve a purpose – whether to highlight an object or to provide contrast, but never a mere "wallflower."

In some cases, flower paintings even serve as a window through which we are able to see how other cultures pay homage to one of nature's wonders. Considering the vast variety of flowers and the different artistic techniques, go figure how many kinds of floral masterpieces an artist can come up with! Indeed, the possibilities are endless.

Similarly, flower art works are just as versatile. There's definitely one art piece that'll fit any wall, any space, any establishment.
