Paintings of Old Barns Houses Replicate Everyday Life
|
|||||||||||||
Almost everything between the sky and the ground is raw material for an artist to draw his subject from. Whatever subject the artist chooses for his paintings is reminiscent of a childhood memory or a personal statement. One of the most common subjects to paint about is the things in everyday life. Take for example paintings of old barns houses with its accompanying rustic picture frames.
There is really nothing exceptional about an old barn house with its rough exterior and dull color, but barn houses are a perfect subject that portrays everyday life, a life that may be extremely important to the artist. Most artists show a deep connection with the environment that surrounds them and many have chosen to record their observations on canvas.
Famous Asian painters depict everyday life in rural communities in their home countries and always included an old barn house in the background. Rustic, country-side inspired and very striking in its brown, earth tones, paintings surrounding old houses prove more interesting than at first glance.
A very important element that makes old houses come to life in paintings emulating rustic settings is texture. Texture provides movement to the pictures, gives contrast to an otherwise smooth surface. One way to tell an artist's great use of texture is if the viewer becomes compelled to touch the painting.
So the next time you visit your art gallery, don't underestimate the beauty of rustic paintings. Old barn houses though the subjects may be, there must be a good reason why they're on display.
