Cat paintings and other paintings of pets such as birds, dogs, and horses are done by various artists.
These pet portraits can be done using various mediums such as oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor and even pencil. Portraits of pets are usually commissioned by pet owners. However, other paintings are done simply by animal lovers.
The easiest way is to simply get multiple photos of your cat and select one for the artist to paint. But if this does not appeal to you and you really want to go through the complete painting process, take note of the following.
1. Bring your cat to the studio at a time of day when you know he is at his most calm like after having his food or if your cat is always lazy in the afternoons.
2. If you're using the painting artist's studio, make sure that you have already made frequent trips there with your cat so that the feline will not view it as new surroundings when the actual painting begins.
Further, bring something very familiar to your cat like his own snoozer or cat bed.
3. Bring treats. Like all animals, cats can be lured to behave using the reward system.
