American landscape paintings are one of the most sought after, especially if they happen to be landscape paintings by Robert Wood.
Throughout his lifetime, Robert W. Wood had been able to travel all across the United States. Name a state and Robert Wood may have been able to visit it.
These were the times when the sand on the beach and the seascape with its pristine waves, and the vast lands were relatively untouched.
These paintings, whether it be that of a landscape or the sea, Wood had been able to capture these scenes in the truest manner. Is it any surprise then that he also dabbled in South western paintings.
Maybe this can be credited to Wood spending his time outside often. Robert Wood also had this practice of writing the details surrounding the landscape paintings which he had done at the back of the canvas at one point in his life.
Wood later on spent his years in California where he continued to paint, producing fine works with the coast as his subject. He then moved to New York, where he captured the dramatic fall scenes. Robert Wood and his paintings continue to be admired up to this day.
Some say he became famous because of the sheer volume of his works, since he is said to be one of the most prolific painters America has ever seen. Still, this might be better attributed to the simplicity, innocence and truthfulness of his paintings.
