If an art teacher asks his or her class to name famous paintings or popular artworks and artists, one would inevitably encounter "Mona Lisa", the "Sistine Chapel", "Leonardo da Vinci", "Claude Monet" as the usual replies together with various others connected to the Renaissance or Impressionist period.
And why not?
Although these works may be dated back to Europe's revival period they still remain famous to this day.
During this time, a painting would be given such thought, preparation and dedication by amaster that it is not surprising at all that these old works continue to be popular or famous today.
Michelangelo had devoted four years in painting the Sistine Chapel.
His endeavors often led to paint dripping on his face and having to lie on his back while painting just so he can hold papers above his head to read them.
Another remarkable painting, according to any guru or teacher, would be the famous Mona Lisa.
It is held remarkable for its half-smiling, half-frowning appearance, which was created by Leonardo da Vinci.
And what about The Luncheon and The Japanese Girl of Claude Monet?
We can go on and on but suffice it to say that famous paintings by a known master are definitely here to stay.
